It didn't have his trademark tongue-in-cheek humor at all and I couldn't get into the story or work up any interest for the main character. I'm sure I'll go back to this someday when I need my Pratchett fix, but I could not force myself to go through it right now. Juxtaposing a girl brought up in "proper" society with native islanders will do that. Has some good themes worth thinking about. It's kind of an alternative universe with British colonial roots.
